We have landed in 2015 for good now. Who knows what surprises the year will bring? This flock of whimbrels landed on the mud flats of Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve a few months ago; by now they will have left as the dry season sets in and the weather begins its slow transition to warmth further north. The whimbrel is the most widespread species of curlew in the world, with its range covering three continents. Like these birds, hopefully 2015 will give me more chances to spread my wings and fly far and high. Here’s to a great year ahead.

I'm a young teen explorer of a world full of wonders. I tend to be distracted by birds in the middle of a conversation and may or may not narrate butterfly life histories at random intervals. Through my camera and my writing, I aim to bring the wonder I feel when I see a new species or admire a vast vista to a new audience, and avoid driving away my few remaining friends.
